Dhenkanal DFO suspends Two Officials over Jumbo Deaths

Bhubaneswar, Oct 12: The district forest officer of Dhenkanal has suspended two officials for their negligence that caused death of two jumbos on Sunday night.  According to reports, an elephant and a calf were found dead at Gunadei village under Odapada block.

Taking serious note over the death of elephants, the district forest officer has suspended forester Sudhakar Das and forest guard Bighneswar Biswal for their negligence in duty. The forest officials have lodged complaint against CESU officials as an elephant and  its calf were killed after coming in contact with 11 KV electric wire. On Sunday night a heard of elephants passed the NH-55 and two animals came in contact with live wire.
