Good Governance Day celebration at NIC, Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Dec 30: Good Governance Week was celebrated with Launching of various ICT Projects by Hon’ble Minister for Communications & IT, Government of India Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad from India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 28th December, 2015.

Amongst the various projects which were digitally launched from the venue, the launching of National Data Centre to be established at Bhubaneswar was highlighted. This will be the fourth National Data Centres to be established apart from those already established at Delhi, Hyderabad & Pune.

NIC has setup National Data Centres to meet the increased expectations from citizens for online services and the demand from increasing number of e-Governance projects being launched by the Government. The National Data Centre at Bhubaneswar is being setup to meet the growing needs of Digital India initiatives. This is a state-of-the-art Tier-3 Data Centre with 99.982% availability and 24X7 support, covering over 40,000 square feet of area. The Data Centre will be operational by end of 2016 at a cost of Rs.188.59 crores.

National Informatics Centre(NIC) at Bhubaneswar was linked to the event venue through Video-Conferencing. The dignitaries present at NIC Bhubaneswar centre on this occasion were Shri Pradeep Kumar Jena, Principal Secretary, IT Department, Govt. of Odisha, Shri R.N. Goel, General Manager, National Building Construction Corporation, and other officers of NIC & Government.
