Mahanadi Tribunal: Aditya Padhi, Pradeep Jena to represent Odisha

ONI Bureau:  Odisha Governnment has appraised names of the representatives for adjudication of water disputes as per notice issued by the Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal to the State Governments of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra to nominate their representatives by August 6.

As per report, Chief Secretary Aditya Padhi and Water Resources secretary Pradeep Jena will represent the state in the longstanding disputes between Odisha and Chhattisgarh over sharing of Mahanadi river water.

The Tribunal have its headquarter on the 5th floor of the Janpath Bhawan at Connaught place in New Delhi.

Worth mentioning, the Government of Odisha had sought to refer the water dispute regarding the inter-state river Mahanadi and its river valley to a Tribunal for adjudication under the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956.
