Odisha Govt. earns Rs 4,794 crore from Sea Food exports

Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Pradeep Maharathy said to media person on Wednesday that the State government has earned 4,794 crore from sea food exports.

According to official sources, the state has produced 4.67 lakh tonnes of fish in 2014-15 and had set up a target of Rs.10,000 crore by 2020 from seafood exports.

Maharathy said, farmers were being advised the best management practices to increase shrimp cultivation. This small scale farming will provide self sufficient living to farmers.
