Odisha Govt re-introduces Negative Marking in OJEE

Bhubaneswar, Mar 12: Odisha government has decided to re-introduce negative marking system in the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) test from this year. This was informed in a press release issued by State Technical Education Department here on Saturday.

The negative marking system in OJEE was withdrawn in 2013. The system will be introduced once again from this year. As per the release, in the negative marking system, students will be awarded minus one mark for each wrong answer.

OJEE chairperson Dr Tushar Kant Nath told media that the introduction of negative marking system would effective in selecting best students and it would reduce wild guessing percentage in the examination. The state government held several rounds of discussions about the system before deciding re-implement the negative marking system in OJEE.
