ONI Bureau: The Odisha Government submitted details of expenditure used for construction of the Gurupriya bridge over Janbai river in Malkangiri district to the Centre today. Other necessary documents related to the project were also submitted to the Centre.
The Union Home Ministry had sought a reply from the Odisha government regarding the bridge
On the basis of a question asked in the Lok Sabha earlier, the Union Home Ministry had sought a details of construction of the Gurupriya bridge.
Meanntime, the opposition parties like Congress and BJP demanded a CBI probe into alleged corruption in the construction of the bridge alleging that “undue benefit” was given to contractors of the Gurupriya Bridge.
BJP delegation led by State party unit president Basant Panda today met Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal in this regard. Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President Niranjan Patnaik also claimed that around Rs 74 crore were paid fraudulently.
