ONI Bureau: The special committee set up by Odisha Government to study the functioning of Vidhan Parishad in other states will submit its report soon, informed the Commerce and Transport Minister and chairman of the committee Nrushingha Charan Sahu today.
Odisha Government may follow Telangana model and pass a resolution in the lines of Telangana to establish the Vidhan Parishad as they studied the resolution of Telangana on how it can be passed in the House, informed panel head Nrusingha Sahu. A similar resolution might be tabled in the Odisha Legislative Assembly,” Sahu added.
Earlier the panel visited Maharashtra and Karnataka in 2015 and now it visited Bihar and Telangana to find out methods of formation and functioning of Legislative Councils.
