Odisha Truck Owners’ Federation joins Indefinite Strike

Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: Odisha Truck Owners’ Federation has extended its support to the indefinite strike called by All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) today. More than two lakh trucks in the state have stopped plying due to strike.

AIMTC called indefinite strike opposing present toll system and ‘one-time’ payment of taxes. More than 87 lakh truck owners have joined the strike across the country.

Alleging the Central government for the failure of several rounds of talks over their demands, President of AIMTC Bhim Wadhwa said that we are forced to go on indefinite strike. And, the central government would be responsible for the consequences. He was addressing media persons here at a press conference here.

Odisha Truck Owners’ Federation general secretary Rabinarayan Satpathy, AIMTC Chairperson G.R.N Mugappa and former President O.P. Agrawala were present on the occasion.
