The Govt of India’s CSMRS submitted its preliminary report of the underwater survey. The report claims that the dam is safe. The final report of the survey is expected to be submitted by the end of May.
Cracks and small holes were found at the spillways during an underwater survey in 2002-03. The underwater survey has taken in two phases. One in December for concrete dams and another from March 15 to April 5 for power dam built with stones.
