Shankaracharya on Two-Day Visit to Umerkote from May 27

Umerkote, May 20: Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swamy Shri Nischalananda Saraswati, is scheduled to visit Umerkote on May 27-28. Pandit Matru Prasad Mishra, national secretary of Gabardhan Pitha and General Secretary of Odisha Aditya Bahini briefed media about Shankaracharya’s two-day visit at a press conference here.

Mishra told that Sri Shankaracharya of Puri will reach Koraput on May 27 and from there he will visit to Umarkote. During his two-day visit, Sri Shankaracharya will stay at the residence of Ajit Kumar Sahu.

As per the schedule on May 27, he will participate in Pratishtha Mahotsav of newly constructed Sri Nilakantha temple and Rudrabhishek followed by Linga Sanskaras programme in Umerkote. And, Sri Shankaracharya will  participate in the Narayan Paduka Pujan programme at Sanjib Subudhi’s residence. He will attend Prabachan programme at temple on May 28, Mishra added.

Govardhan Pitha has appointed Sanjib Subudh as Convenor for Sri Shankaracharya’s two-day visit to Umerkote. Mishra urged that women should not touch Sri Shankaracharya during visit and not to hurl flowers at him.  He also appealed all the vendors selling non-vegetarian items to close their shops during the two-day visit of Sri Shankaracharya.
