Sudam Marandi, who has been fighting for the tribals’ rights since his JMM days, has expressed deep concerns and anguish over the violence in Assam. The Bodo militant had attacked some Assam villages bordering Arunachal Pradesh and Bhutan on Tuesday night, killing at least 65 people. 250 tribals are still missing.
Earlier, another Odisha leader and Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram visited Assam along with Home Minister Rajnath Singh to review the situation. Prior to that, he held talks with Assam CM Tarun Gogoi and sought security and all types of assistance to the tribals.
