Sudarsan Pattnaik aims at new record of 100 Ratha Yatra Chariots

Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik aims to create new record of 100 Ratha Yatra chariots at Puri beach in Odisha on upcoming Car Festival of Lord Jagannath.

Pilgrims will get a glimpse of the sand art during the nine-day festival apart from having darshan of the idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra on the giant wooden chariots.

The work will be completed before two days of Ratha Yatra that is on today by 4 pm. Around 25 students of his institute started working on the 100 chariots from Friday and almost 50 chariots has completed.

Patnaik was trying to set a place in the Limca Book of Records, who recently won gold medals at international championships held in Moscow and Bulgaria.

Sudarsan Pattnaik said, his work is likely to attract many tourists this year. A giant-size overhead tent has been erected to prevent from rain so that the work should not get damaged.
