Two Farmers end life in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj and Khurda

Bhubaneswar, Nov 12: Two more distress farmers allegedly committed suicide in Odisha following crop loss and debt burden.

Two farmers from Majyurbhaj and Khurd district reportedly ended their lives; they were identified as Shiv Shankar Singh of Ratanpur village under Badasahi block and Jugal Baghsingh of Godagaon village under Begunia police jurisdiction.

Police seized the bodies of the farmers and sent for postmortem. The family members of Singh said that he had taken loan for agriculture purpose and crop loss due to drought made him to take such extreme step.

And, the family members of the other farmer – Baghsingh, said that he was under distress following crop loss and committed suicide.
