NASA Discovers Water on Sunlit Surface of Moon

In a major scientific discovery, NASA has confirmed the presence of water molecules on the sunlit surface of the moon. The discovery was made by Sofia telescope, the world’s largest flying observatory.

“Water molecules were found in the Clavius Crater, one of the largest craters visible from Earth on the Moon!” NASA said through a tweet.

Though the presence of water was found on the Moon’s sunlit surface for the first time, scientists think the water could be stored ‘inside glass beadlike structure within the soil that can be smaller than the tip of a pencil.’

The discovery is a significant development as the moon was believed to be dry till about a decade back.
