As the figures in National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reveal, on an average 15 people commit suicide in an hour in India. Maharashtra stands second in the suicide index, while Tamil Nadu comes first in it. Although, mental depression is the main cause in the cases of suicides, the shocking deaths of celebrities take everyone by surprise. Literally, it acts as a complete bolt from the blue, when millions of fans of the celebrity hear the sad news of death of their favorite actress or model. Failure in personal relationship, financial tragedy, and slow growth in career are some of the causes of suicidal deaths of celebrities. Besides these causes, drug abuse or alcoholism by the young celebrities also create impulsive ideas about self-killing in their minds.

Though officially not confirmed that whether her death was a suicide or murder, her life as an actress and unexpected death continues to sadden people, who liked almost every movie in which she had acted.
The seductive starlet also appeared in some of the landmark movies of her time that stand etched in the minds of her admirers till now. The versatile vamp in the movies was found dead in her Chennai apartment on 23rd September, 1996.
On 29th July, 2004, the twenty-five year old model hanged herself over an issue with her fiancée businessman Gautam Khanduja. Her death created quite a stir in the world of modeling was she was a brilliant model of her time.
She committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling-fan in her room on 3rd June, 2013. Her reported break-up from her boyfriend Suraj Pancholi was quoted as the reason of her suicide.
The model was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her apartment in Bandra of Mumbai on 25th June, 2015. The reason cited behind her death is believed to be excess depression from her separation from her boyfriend, Gautam Vora.
