Court extends remand of Al Qaeda Operative Abdul Rehman till Jan 11

New Delhi: The remand period of Abdul Rehman, arrested suspected Al Qaeda operative, has been extended till January 11 by the Patiala House Court on Monday.

He was under 12-day remand under Delhi police on December 17, which was about to complete by Tuesday. Rehman was deposed before court on Monday and the court sent him to police custody for another 14 days till January 11.

Cleric Abdul Rehman was arrested from Cuttack in a joint operation carried out Delhi and Odisha police squad.

Odisha police had formed two teams for the investigation into financial dealings of Rehman and his activities in Jharkhand. The two teams of police officials have returned to the capital on Monday after completion of their probe into the activities of arrested Rehman.

Notably, arrested Al Qaeda operative, Rehman had received funds to his bank account from London and as per police he had links with some techies in Bangaluru and Uttar Pradesh.
