Crime Branch cracks Astarang Murder Mystery, nabs a Couple

Astarang, Oct 10: Odisha Crime Branch, which has been investing into the murder of a family on September 21 at Dinadiya village, cracked the murder mystery on Friday. The Crime Branch sleuths arrested a couple in the murder case from Assam border.

Crime Brach officials have arrested Himadri Sekhar Das alias Rahim Khan and his wife Ayesha Begum in the charge for murder four of family. The duo were said to be very close to slain family. The official will depose the couple in court today and may seek 10 day remands to the court for more investigation into the murder case.

According to reports, retired inspector of schools, Dinabandhu Mallick; his wife and two daughters were found murdered on September 21 at their residence in Dinadiya village under Astarang police station jurisdiction.

Arrested couple narrated to police that, on the fatal night they went to deceased Mallick’s house for some financial help. On that night they had dinner with the family members and in the night the couple killed Mallick and his family members. After the incident, Rahim and Ayesha decamped from the house with gold, jewellery and a bike. They were arrested from Assam by the crime branch officials. They will be deposed before court today.
