Dutee Chand’s ‘Gender Case’ to be suspended for 6 months

ONI Bureau: Giving a major relief to Indian Athlete Dutee Chand, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) today suspended the proceedings of her ‘gender case’ for six months, seeking more information and evidence.

The Athletics Federation of India banned Dutee Chand in 2014 under this policy but she challenged AFI’s decision at the CAS in Lausanne, Switzerland.

It is to be noted that International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) have a Hyperandrogenism policy according to which female athletes who naturally produce high levels of testosterone cannot be allowed to compete on the ground.
