ONI Bureau:  Members of the Shree Jagannath Sena today observing bandh in Puri over their eight-point charter of demands including newly implemented Queue System (Dhadi Darshan) at the 12th century shrine.

According to sources, devotees and servitors barged into Puri Srimandir after breaking barricades near Singhadwara, opposing Dhadi Darshan. The activists of Shree Jagannath Sena blocked road by burning tyres on Bada Danda.

Puri bandh turned violent as the agitating protesters ransacked office of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, also barged into Puri MLA Maheswar Mohanty and damaged properties. The protesters also hurled stones at residence of Puri SP, Sarthak Sarangi.

While there were separate queues for physically challenged pilgrims, devotees and VIPs, devotees are unhappy with the new system citing that it delays their entry into the Jagannath temple.
