State Vigilance booked 453 Criminal cases in 2017

ONI Bureau:  During the year 2017,  the State Vigilance Department has registered criminal cases against 453 persons, Vigilance sources said.

Cases have been registered against 61 Class-I officials , 61 Class-II officers, 383 Class III employees and 10 Class IV staff, 38 other Public Servants and 356 Private persons in the year.

Out of these, 105 cases have been registered for acquisition of disproportionate assets against 110 Public servants and 49 Private persons amounting to Rs.65.17 Crore (as per FIR).

Similarly, 159 Trap cases have been registered during the period against 169 Public servants and 5 Private persons for demanding and accepting bribe from the complainants amounting to Rs.18.86 lakhs.

Likewise, 179 Corruption cases have been registered against 269 Public servants and 307 Private persons for misappropriation of Govt. money amounting to Rs.16.84 Crores. 10 cases have been registered under Essential Commodities Act.
