The trust had an agreement with the Western Odisha Development Council in 2014 to set up the medical college in Kalahandi. Though the trust had established Sardar Rajas Medical College, the Medical Council of India (MCI) did not agree to give recognition to the institute on the ground that it failed to meet the MCI norms.
The Supreme Court had asked to deposit Rs 2 crore as it had failed to establish a functional medical college at Jaring, Kalahandi. But the Trust had filed an application for modification of the order. Later on that was rejected by the apex court.
