Tata Steel lays Foundation Stone for a Model School at Gohirapatuli

As part of its initiative to make quality education infrastructure available to students in far flung areas of the State, Tata Steel on Tuesday laid the Foundation Stone for a Model School at Gohirapatuli in Ranipada Panchayat under Danagadi Block of Jajpur district. Shri Pritiranjan Ghadai, Hon’ble MLA, Sukinda laid the foundation stone for the Model School.

Mr Prasant Mallick, GM (Corporate Services), Kalinganagar Project, Mrs Lalita Ray, Chairman, Danagadi Block, Mr Sanjeev Kumar Jha, Executive-In-Charge of Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company (JUSCO) in Odisha graced the occasion as guests.

To be built on 5 acres of land, the School at Gohirapatuli will include a two storey school building of 25,000 square feet built up area. After completion of the construction, the school will be handed over to the State Government. Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company (JUSCO), a Tata Steel subsidiary company, will be constructing the schools. The building would be completed in one year time.

Tata Steel is setting up nine Model Schools in Jajpur district and 30 in the state. This initiative of the steel major is part of the grand plan of Government of Odisha for setting up such Model Schools in each Block of the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Ghadai commended this initiative of Tata Steel in education sector and hoped it will promote quality education in the State. Hundreds of the local villagers, local PRI members, School students, and government functionaries, officials of Tata Steel and media persons joined the function.
