Gautam Gambhir returns to India Test Squad after two years

Opening batsman Gautam Gambhir has returned to India’s Test squad after a gap of long two years.

Gambhir will play for India against New Zealand in the second match of the three-Test series scheduled to be held in Kolkata at Eden Gardens on 30 September.

Gambhir replaced KL Rahul, who sustained a hamstring injury during Kanpur Test.

Gautam Gambhir’s comeback was picked on the basis of his outstanding performance in the Duleep Trophy, where he scored 356 runs from five innings at an average of 71.20.
