India beat Afghanistan, 1st Win in Australia Tour

Team India registered their victory in this Australian tour, as they defeated minnows Afghanistan by 153 runs in the warm-up game ahead of 2015 World Cup. Rohit Sharma regained form with a solid 150 off 122 balls.

India posted 364/5 in 50 overs. Rohit Shrma scored 150 with 22 boundaries and 7 sixes. Dhawan and Kohli failed, but Suresh Raina (75) and Ajinkya Rahane (88) helped him to consolidate India’s innings total.

In reply, Afghanistan lost the match by 153 runs, but did well to bat for 50 overs. They scored 211/8. Usman Ghani (44), Nawroz Mangal (60) and Afsar Zazai (24*) were the top contributors. Mohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each.
