IPL 2017: Players Auction to held on Feb 20

The player auction for Indian Premier League (IPL) – 2017 edition will be held in Bangalore on February 20.

Each IPL franchise can have up to 27 players in its squad, with a maximum of nine overseas players. The purse for each team has been capped at Rs 66 crore (approximately $10 million).

The franchises have submitted their list of desired players. The number of players to go under the hammer has come down to 351 out of 799.

The final list contains 122 international players including 6 names from associate countries out of which 5 are from Afghanistan. 24 capped Indian players will also enter in the auction.

The featuring names were of Asghar Stanikzai (Afghanistan captain), Mohammad Shahzad, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Dawlat Zadran.  Mohammad Shahzad and Rashid Khan have gone on to list themselves at the highest base price at Rs 50 lakh.

Indian pacer Ishant Sharma, who had a good outing against Bangladesh recently, has listed himself at the highest base price of Rs 2 crore. He is the only Indian international who has a base price of more than Rs 30 lakh.
