Virat Kohli signs Rs 100-cr Deal with Puma

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has become the first sportsperson to sign a Rs. 100 crore endorsement deal with a single brand. He has struck an eight year deal with sports lifestyle brand Puma, a German company, worth around Rs. 110 crore.

The annual fixed payout for Kohli is estimated between Rs. 12 to 14 crore.

The cricketer will work as a global ambassador for the brand like the Jamaican sprinters Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell, as well as footballers Thierry Henry and Oliver Giroud to launch a signature line of sports lifestyle products with a special logo and brand identity.

Puma is expected to work with Kohli in markets like UK, Australia, South Africa and the Middle East and “wherever Cricket is relevant.”
