Orissa High Court scraps OJS-2015 Preliminary Exam

The Orissa High Court has squashed the Odisha Judicial Service (OJS)-2015 preliminary Examination and directed the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to conduct the examination afresh within six weeks.

The Court also asked OPSC to hold the Main examination within four weeks after publication of the preliminary examination results.

About 18 OJS aspirants had approached the High Court seeking judicial intervention, alleging that as many as 26 out of 100 questions in the examination were wrong.

The preliminary examination was held on May 31st this year and over 2000 law students had appeared in it for recruitment to 69 posts of civil judges.

Notably, the Odisha Civil Services Examination, 2011 has been under jurisdiction for wrong questions and grace mark issues in its preliminary examination, which raises serious question on the competence of OPSC to conduct the recruitment examinations for such important official posts of the state.
