Kejriwal draws Flak over his Remarks on Rape Cases in Delhi

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who sought to put the blame on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and L-G Najeeb Jung for the rape cases in Delhi, received criticism from all quarters. Even, the Congress Party was critical of him and asked him to introspect instead of playing blame game.

In 2013, Kejriwal had targeted then Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, calling her a weak and helpless CM. “Sheila Dikshit’s response after each rape – “What can I do? Delhi Police not in my control.” Do we want such a helpless CM”, he tweeted on 27 June 2013.

Today, on 17 October 2015, Kejriwal tweeted, “Repeated rape of minors is shameful and worrying. Delhi Police has completely failed to provide safety. What are PM n his LG doing?”

While Delhi Police, which controls law and order, remains under the centre, Union Home Ministry, and not PMO is in charge. Seems Kejriwal is unable to understand this, as he continues to practice hit-and-run policy. Former CM Sheila Diskhit has slammed Kejriwal, saying he must address the real issue rather than blaming others.

The BJP asked, why the CM has failed to provide adequate security to women. Where are the CCTVs and Marshalls, as promised by Kejriwal, the party asked.
