Modi Government cancels Greenpeace India’s FCRA Licence

The Modi Government has officially cancelled the license of Greenpeace India under the Foreign Contribution Regulations Act (FCRA) for alleged anti-India activities that hampered the country’s economic growth. The centre had in April blocked Greenpeace India’s bank accounts and issued a notice to the organisation.

The Modi Government has so far cancelled FCRA licence of at least 11,000 NGOs for violating various provisions of FCRA.
