Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Haj Pilgrims in a stampede at Mina, Mecca during stoning of ‘Satan’. The death toll in the stampede, has gone up to 453, while 919 people are said to be injured. There are no reports of any Indian casualties yet.
“Distressing news from Mecca. Pained at loss of lives due to the stampede. Condolences to families of the deceased & prayers with the injured,” the PM tweeted.
