The 21-year-old woman has claimed that she was engaged to Sardar Singh four years ago and was forced to abort their child in 2015. They reportedly met first during the 2012 London Olympics. “I was abandoned by Sardar following the abortion and he refused to marry me. Thus, I was forced to go public to get justice,” she said.
The Ludhiana police has received the complaint and may file an FIR soon. Meanwhile, Sardar Singh has refuted all allegations. “I know her, but I never assaulted her. I am completely focused on Rio Olympics now and does not want to get distracted by such developments. My lawyer will respond to all allegations,” he said.
