Coal India to hire 800 Executives by February End

Coal IndiaState-owned Coal India Ltd will hire as many as 800 executives by February 2015. The government has been formulating strategies to boost the output of Coal India to 1 billion tonne in next five years.

Working on long-term hiring plans, the company will hire 800 personnel for its human resource, finance, sales and marketing divisions in the next two months.

Coal India has over 3 lakh workforce with a contribution of 80 per cent to the domestic production.

In last fiscal, the Coal India missed the production target of 462 million tonne due to various reasons including lack of environment clearance. In order to achieve the target set for the current fiscal year, the company needs to produce 507 million tonne.

The coal ministry has sought suggestion from industry bodies, stakeholder and other. Coal India will invest Rs 5,000 crore to by 250 rakes for transporting coal.

Piyush Goyal, the Coal Minister said it is possible to achieve the target of doubling domestic production and country should make efforts to export coal to other countries.
