Rajive Singh receives The Best Citizens of India Award 2015

Colonel R S Chauhan Colonel Rajive Singh Chauhan, Registrar of the Central University of Orissa, Koraput has been honoured with the “THE BEST CITIZENS OF INDIA AWARD 2015” by the International Publishing House, the world’s most leading biographical specialists, New Delhi for his outstanding role to bring up the Central University of Orissa, Koraput.

Colonel RS Chauhan is an alumina from one of the most prestigious institution in India i.e. Rastriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, joined as Registrar in the Central University of Orissa on 12th May, 2014. After joining he is actively involved in physical infrastructure development for newly established Central University located at Koraput which is a tribal dominated district of Odisha in the undivided Kalahandi, Balangir & Koraput district. He is closely monitoring the Civil and Engineering activities of the University and also looks after the administrative aspects. He has an excellent rapport with the other Universities, the Central Government, State Government and other organisations which are contributing benefit towards the development of the University. Due to his constant effort the main campus of the University at Sunabeda is shortly going to be fully functional. Presently the State of the Art Guest House, Boys Hostel, Girls’ Hostel, temporary Academic Block, Library building have come up. There are four centres which are running in the permanent Campus. Another Academic Block is under construction stage and will come up in the next academic session which will provide the sufficient space for the new Masters Programmes. The electricity and water pipe lines are in progress inside the campus. The State Government has assured to complete the work of providing water and electricity and approach road before 15th February, 2014.

Colonel Chauhan is having more than 38 years of operational and administrative experience with the Indian Army, has worked in different capacity as Chief Executive Officer of the Rashtriya Rifle Training Centre, Chief Executive Officer Andaman & Nicobar Islands, National Cadet Corps, Staff Officer to Chief of Staff Southern Army & with the Adjutant General of Indian Army at the Integrated HQ of Ministry of Defence (Army) at New Delhi, Chief Executive Officer, (Administration) Army Training Command, Shimla. He has had the distinction of actively operating in high intense counter insurgency areas in J&K, Punjab and the Eastern States of India. Worked with one of the highly operational formation and was responsible for Provisioning of Weapon & War like equipments in the operational areas which were Highly Insurgent prone/disturbed area, worked with Integrated Headquarters of Ministry of Defence (Army) at the Directorate General of Operational Logistics & Strategic Movement, at New Delhi.

He has been nominated for his life time outstanding performances in General Administration, Command & Control, Security Management and Human Resource Management which has inspired many others towards his remarkable achievements. He has also represented NAM & has had the distinction of having worked with The President & The Prime Minister of India. He has also been awarded by the Govt. of Canada and the Govt. of India Certificate of Merit for his outstanding work in Community Development, Language learning, Cross Cultural Exchange and International Development in India & Canada. Apart from this he has also been awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card for his Outstanding Performance in the Indian Army and recently he is also awarded BHARAT GAURAV AWARD for his outstanding contribution.
