15-day-old baby branded with Hot Iron in Keonjhar Dist

ONI Bureau:  In yet another case of superstitious practice, a 15-day-old baby branded with hot iron to cure ailments in Keonjhar district.

Reportedly, the infant was suffering with stomach ailment and fever. Following which her grandmother branded her with hot iron bangle.

After his condition deteriorated, parents rushed him to the Keonjhar district headquarters hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

Though several awareness campaigns and schemes is being taken, the practice of branding children with hot iron is widely practiced in many remote areas of Odisha.
