The Bhitarkanika National Park has been closed down for the public from today (May 1). This is the season of breeding of estuarine crocodiles.
During the breeding season, the crocodiles lay eggs on the surface. The restrictions have imposed to allow no disturbance.
The Bhitarkanika National Park will remain shut from May 1 to July 31.
