ITC Limited Plans to set up Confectionery Unit in Odisha

ITC Limited, a largest private sector FMCG company, has been planning to set up a confectionery unit in the state with an outlay of Rs 440 crore. The company has a proposal to set up a biscuits and confectionery manufacturing plant in Khurda Food Park of IDCO. A team of ITC Limited will discuss the proposal to set up confectionery unit in Khurda with MSME secretary, Panchanan Dash in Bhubaneswar today. MSME department is the nodal agency for Odisha Food Processing Policy-2013.

Ramesh Mohapatra, President of Uktal Chamber of Commerce and Industry told that ITC Limited is interested to  set up a confectionary unit in Khurda Food Park of IDCO with an investment of Rs.440 crore. Last year, Indo Nissin Foods Ltd had commissioned its food factory at Food Park in Khurda with an investment of Rs 100 crore. Indo Nissin Foods Ltd is a subsidiary of Nissin Foods Holdings, Japan.
