4th Phase Polling: J&K 49%, Jharkhand 62%

J&K-PollsDespite the threats and warnings from separatists and militants and braving the cold wave, the people in Jammu & Kashmir turned up at the polling stations to cast their votes in the fourth phase. 49% polling was recorded in J&K in the fourth phase. Polling was held in 18 assembly segments of J&K today.

Eight constituencies in Srinagar city went to polls today. As compared to previous elections, the polling percentage in the city was recorded much higher, which is considered as a positive sign. A large number of women and old people defied the odd to cast their votes.

Earlier, J&K had witnessed polling percentages of 72%, 70% and 58% in the first three phases. In Jharkhand, the polling percentage was recorded at around 62% during the fourth phase. 15 seats went to polls today in the state.
