Bijepur Bypoll: All Is Not Well in Odisha BJP

ONI Bureau: After poaching Ashok Panigrahi from BJD, BJP was confident of scoring a high point in Bijepur Bypoll. But, seems their calculations have gone wrong.

The infighting within BJP in Bargarh region, has intensified further as the party cadres and leaders are not willing to accept Ashok Panigrahi, a BJD man till a few weeks ago.

Nuapada District In-charge Pramod Kumar Chhatar is the latest to revolt, saying he would contest the assembly bypolls in Bijepur as an Independent. Chhatar is also a State Executive Member of BJP’s SC Morcha.

Several other leaders and workers in Bargarh district are upset the way they were ignored while choosing Ashok Panigrahi as the official candidate for the bypoll. Even, some state level leaders have disapproved his candidature, but remain silent as the situation is not conducive for them to take a public stand.
