Odia Director Ashok Kumar Das bags Award for his film ‘Healu’Bhubaneswar, Dec 4: Odia film director Ashok Kumar Das has been conferred with ‘Best Director Awards’ for his work in the file ‘Healu’.  He was conferred the award during Global Film Festival organized at Asian Academy of Film and Television in Noida. Film artists, makers, directors from 35 countries had participated in the film festival.

The film ‘Healu’ (Drum) based on life-style and culture being following a primitive tribal community – Kishan. The film has reflected their culture, tradition and musical theme since the film named after musical instrument. The language of Kishan community has been used in this film.

In Odisha the communities are being bases in the districts – Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur, Deogarh to Keonjhar.

The film was produced by Sripati Bhusan Srichandan on the banner of P.K. Prodcution ; written and directed by Ashok Kumar Das. Prabhudutt Pradhan, the music composer of famous Rangabati song, composed music for this movie while lyrics given by Mitrabhanu Gauntia. Payal, Abhipsha, Surnath Nayak, Lariman Kharsel, Udittnarayan Dusbhya were in leading roles.

The film festival attended by famous personalities like Ketan Meheta, Mukesh Bhatt, Pankaj Parashar, Vivek Agnihotri, Ketan Desai and festival Chairman Sandeep Marwah.
