Biju Patnaik Film and Television Institute celebrates World Cinema Day

World Cinema DayBhubaneswar, Dec 28: The World Cinema Day has been celebrated in the auditorium of Biju Patnaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha, Cuttack on 28 & 29 December 2015. It is the same day on which Lumiere brother’s tried their first private screening of projected motion pictures in 1895 for the masses.

Since 18 years the institute have the tradition of celebrating the Cinema Day on 28th December at Biju Patnaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha, Cuttack only. Aim & objective of this grandeur celebration is to create awareness about the importance of the day as well as among the film aspirants to make good Cinema. The Cinema Day gives a bunch of inspiration to the new growing buds who wants to make career in film making.

World Cinema Day-1This grand event was inaugurated by Eminent film maker Rajgopal Mishra,Director , Parbati Ghosh, Bishnu prasad sahu, Director, DTET, and Principal of the institute Pradeepta Ranjan Mohanty, Senior lecturer Dilip panda has given the introduction.  Some of the classic cinemas of Odisha (Chha mana athaguntha, Laxmi ra abhisara, Blue Mountain & smoke, Capital Eye, Suka Asuchi) yet  to be screened.

“This is a unique platform & a unique festival” said eminent Film Director Basant sahu. “How Cinema is combined with literature and Culture” elaborated by the Chief guest Mr.Bishnu Prasad Sahu, Director, DTET. Addressing the students Chief speaker Raju Mishra said try to see the sound and try to listen the visual of Cinema.Actress and Film Maker Parbati Ghosh discussed the problems and perspective of Cinema.

This platform has given a great opportunity to the students of BPFTIO to see these films and to interact heart to heart with the great film personalities. The attempt of creating a tradition of celebrating Cinema Day has been appreciated not only by the print & electronics media but also cinema lovers and other general viewers.
