Coach Judy Van Zon Offers Leadership Course at Sri Sri University
Bhubaneswar, Nov 9: Internationally renowned coach Ms. Judy Van Zon is at Sri Sri University to train MA students of Good Governance and Public Policy in the areas of team building and leadership. Ms. Judy from Netherlands is an internationally certified professional coach and trainer with more than 20 years of experience in the areas of developing teams and training leaders to become efficient and effective.
The Programme was inaugurated by Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi Mohanty and Dr. Pratima Sarangi. The three day (3-5 November) intensive course for MA students of Good Governance at Sri Sri University was planned by the Department of Good Governance led by Dr. Mohanty in active consultation with Ms. Judy.
During this intensive certificate course Ms. Judy touched upon issues of group behavior, team building, relationship systems, effective team work and collaborative leadership. Students learnt several skills to self-reflect and assess their behaviors, patterns and skills. The students benefited immensely from the experiential learning method of the course and Judy has helped them to unlock their potential to be efficient and ethical leaders of tomorrow. The students said in the feedback that this course has immensely helped them discover their natural leadership traits and recognize their inherent capacity to respond to the existing and emerging internal and external challenges.
VC Prof Nand Lal speaking at the valedictory session appreciated the initiative of the Department and was happy that students learnt to think from within and beyond. Ms. Judy thanked the Sri Sri University and Prof Nand Lal for taking this initiative. She said that as a leadership trainer she usually works with corporate teams but working with these bright young students of Good Governance and Public Policy was a unique experience for her. She was impressed with the quality of students and thanked them for their full engagement, enthusiasm and willingness to learn which made the course a joyful experience.
In Vote of Thanks Dr. Pratima Sarangi thanked Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi Mohanty, Mr. Kamala Kanta Dash, students of both batches and above all to Ms. Judy Van Zon. She also thanked student coordinators Vishal Dewan, Priti Bhujbal and Spira Ram etc for their voluntary contribution in taking charge of different aspects of the course.
It should be noted that Sri Sri University has developed national and global partnerships to strengthen its unique MA programme in Good Governance and Public Policy. Students are trained in theory and practice of governance through lectures, field visits, interviews and various skill based labs. The first batch students for their summer research project have worked with many institutions notably including the Centre for Good Governance, Hyderabad; PRS Delhi; Vision India Foundation, Delhi; Maharashtra Legislative Assembly; Pramanya Strategy; Vapi Municipal Council , Gujarat and NALCO, Odisha.
