Director of Odisha Tourism inaugurates Seminar on MSM Promotion

In his inaugural speech, Mr. Jawale said, “Odisha is richly endowed with natural resources. The tourism industry hence, is pro nature. Apart from the proper installment of infrastructure, this industry is a costless development.

Government is emphasizing on the proper development of Tourism on priority basis. The tourism potential should be presented in a correct manner at the international arena. Along with massive publicity, the local people and industry should come forward and create an environment that is supportive as well as conducive to the tourists visiting Odisha.”

Director of Industries Nityananda Palai in his welcome address discussed the scope of MSME in Tourism sector and how it has been adding to the state economy since IPR 2015 was established.

HARO chairman J.K Mohanty emphasized on the role of the hotel industry in generating employment in the present scenario.

Among the resource persons, Mr. J. K Rath, MD Mechem Pvt. Ltd., explained the possibilities of entrepreneurship on Aqua Tourism. G. Sarangi, Chairman IATO Odisha deliberated on the role of Tour Operators. U.Pati, Dy. Director, Directorate of Tourism spoke on the various tourist spots that can be used to promote as tourist destinations. Benjamin Simon, Advisor Odisha Tourism Advisory Board, argued how international hotel chains can be attracted to boost domestic economy.

Sibashis Mishra, CEO 5 Elements, put forth his opinion on latest technologies and applications that needs to be developed to enhance services related to tourism.  Md. Sidiqui, Principal IHM, proposed on the need to advertise local cuisine and promote it on a global scale. A.K Patnaik, Khurdha DFO deliberated on the conservation of the environment and hence promote eco-tourism and biodiversity.
