KIIT & KISS pay Homage to Legendary JB Patnaik

imageThree-time Chief Minister of Odisha and Former Governor of Assam, Janaki Ballabh Patnaik is no more. He passed away at a private hospital in Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.

A condolence meeting was held by 25,000 tribal students of KISS in presence of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS. Dr. P. K. Routray, CEO, KISS, Dr. P. K. Das, Director, KISS and other dignitaries were also present to pay homage to late J. B. Patnaik.

Expressing his condolence over the death of Shri Patnaik, Dr. Samanta said, J. B. Patnaik, who started his career as a journalist, was a Sanskrit scholar, highly educated, well behaved disciplined man, who wrote several books include literature, Sanskrit and translations.

imageJ. B. Patnaik had visited this institute so many time to meet the children of KISS, as he was fond of tribal children. He always tried to develop the tribal community of the country, he added. He said, the contribution of Shri J. B. Patnaik to Odisha in education, literature, politics, culture and propagation of Jagannath culture in other states will be remembered.

Dr. Routray said, “J. B. Patnaik was a real scholar of Sanskrit and a great politician and he has given enough contribution for the progress of Odisha. It is a great loss to the state.”
