Odisha Minister inaugurates Charitable Corporate Cricket League in Bhubaneswar

cricketBhubaneswar, Dec 17: The 6th Charitable Corporate Cricket League (CCCL) 2015 was inaugurated at Kishore Club Ground, Unit-1, Bhubaneswar, on Thursday. Mr. Sudam Marndi, Minister for Sports and Youth Services, inaugurated the event by tossing the coin.

While addressing the media at the event Mr. Marndi said, “The occasion of Social Organization, Media and Corporate coming together for a good cause is admirable.” He appreciated the initiative of co-hosts ‘We4You’ and ‘OdishaLIVE’ for bringing people of different sections of the society together for a social cause. “Such activities should happen at regularly interval so that more organizations and people can be motivated”, he added.

Total 32 teams, including ‘Media Eleven’, are taking part in the event. Similarly, total 63 matches are to be played in day and night format in the 4 days long tournament. At the inauguration event, after tossing of the coin, it created an interesting show when the Minister of Sports Mr. Marndi was trying to defend on the ground to the bowling by Dr. RP Sharma, Commissioner of Police, who was also a Guest of Honour at the event.

Similarly, the ground was full of enthusiasm when other Guests of Honour of the event Mr. Ananta Narayan Jena, Mayor, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation; Mr. Bijaya Kumar Mohanty, MLA, Bhubaneswar – Central and Mr. Deepak Srivastava, Chief Vigilance Officer, MCL got into the ground to play. Mrs. Poly Patnaik, Founder, Mother’s Public School, also joined the event as a Guest of Honour.

At the official inaugural match, today, Corporate Cricket Club (CCC) met the team of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL). The organizers have created 2 fields inside Kishore Club Ground to facilitate total 63 matches. Flood light arrangements have been made to organize the game at the evening.

“The Champion and Runners Up team along with ‘Man of the Series’ and other outstanding players will be given away trophy at the presentation ceremony on 20 December, at 7.30pm,”, CCCL 2015 Core Team member and Founder ‘OdishaLIVE’ Mr. Nilambar Rath, informed. The hosts are promoting a special bat which will have signature of the dignitaries and it will be auctioned at 5pm on Sunday. “The money coming from the auction will be spent towards developing educational solutions for the visually challenged people”, he added.

Along with Mr. Rath, other CCCL Core Team members Mr. Abhaya Mohanta, Founder, ‘We4You’; Mr. Sandeep Simon Behera, Chief Consultant Branding, OdishaLIVE and Mr. Susant Kumar Das, Founder, SJ TechnoTrade and number of volunteers of We4You were present at the occasion.
