OP Jindal School & Jindal Vidyapitha celebrate Utkal Divas

Jindal-School3Angul: Students and teachers of OP Jindal School & Jindal Vidyapitha celebrated Utkal Divas to mark the formation of Odisha state. Prof. Minaketan Purohit, President Utkal Sammelan and Zilla Lekhak Parishad, Angul branch graced the function organised by OP Jindal School as Chief Guest. He remembered the key architects of making Odisha a separate State in India and highlighted the glorifying significance of the day.

Among others, Secretary of Utkal Sammelan Mr. Dhaneswar Sahu, Principal of the School Mr. Chhanda Charan Das, and other teachers were also present during the programme.

To mark the occasion, a series of competitions such as Odia Essay, Odia Poem Recitation and Odia Debate were organized by OP Jindal School. The winner participants were awarded with trophies and Certificates of Merit by the Guests.Mr. Chhanda Charan Das, Principal reminded the historic contributions of the Founders of Modern Odisha  in creation of the independent State of Orissa on 1st April 1936.

Jindal-School2A host of cultural programme like Odissi, Horse Dance (Ghoda nacha), Sloka Chanting and songs were presented by students of OP Jindal School enthusiastically. Senior teachers namely Dr. M.S. Meher, Mr. R.K. Panda delivered motivational speeches  on this occasion imbibing a sense of pride in the Students for the culture and heritage of Odisha. Vote of thanks was accorded at the end by Mr. R. K. Tripathy. The Programme was coordinated by senior teacher Mr. Sirish Ku. Mishra.

Utkal Divas was also celebrated at Jindal Vidyapitha, the Odia medium High School in JSPL’s Rehabilitation Colony in Mahitala. The Students portrayed the  struggle for creation of separate State of Odisha in drama, poetry, one act play and debate form. Students ,Teachers  and  JSPL’s CSR Dept functionaries paid their tributes to the Founders of  State of Odisha.

Headmistress of Jindal Vidyapitha, Smt. Diptirekha Das steered the Programme and inspired the Students for contributing to the enrichment of Odisha, its culture and Odiya language.
