Suraksha – A Students’ Forum on Road Safety held at KIIT on July 5

Suraksha2Bhubaneswar, 5th July, 2015 : ‘Vivekananda Hospital & Commissionerate Police presented “Suraksha” A  students’ forum on Road Safety  to  spread awareness and educate High School & Secondary School Students, on the 5th of July at KIIT Auditorium. This event was conceptualized and conducted by  city based media consultancy AUXIN.

ACP Traffic ,Bhubaneswar, Mr Jatin Panda attended the event as chief guest. Other guests included RTO-2  Mr Sanjay Behera , Bhubaneswar and  Road Safety Expert Mr Biju Muthu from Bangalore
The event was attended by over 200 students of class 9th to 12th , from different schools like Kendriya Vidyalaya, Capital High School, Sai Internationsal, ODM School, DAV Chandrashekharpur, Takshila, KIIT International KISS, Loyola  etc.

The children shared their views on road safety in the elocution competition held at the event. The open house session as well as the spot quiz contest also saw enthusiastic participation from all students .

Suraksha1Speaking on the occasion Dr Shibanandan Pati, MD of Vivekananda Hospital said “it’s a small initiative towards creating a safe society and of course the beginning of miles to go for mass awareness .”

Lauding the effort Mr. Jatin Panda, ACP Traffic, Bhubaneswar said“ These interactive  forums with students go a long way In creating awareness on road safety and there should be many more such forums organized in future.”

The event concluded with the prize giving ceremony , wherein 5 trophies  were given away to the winners of the elocution competition and 5 trophies given to outstanding participants of the open house session The first prize  in elocution went to Aryabrata Biswakalpa of KiiT International school, 2nd to Jivitesh Debata of Sai International & 3rd to B.N. Shreevisesha. All winners of the spot quiz were also given prizes.
