Vinoba Seva Pratisthan marks Vinoba Bhave’s Birth Anniversary

Birth Anniverasy of Acharaya Vinoba BhaveBhubaneswar, Sep 11: Vinoba Seva Pratisthan marked 121th Birth Anniverasy of Acharaya Vinoba Bhave at Jaydev Bhawan here today by organizing Sarvodaya Samagam. On the occasion many freedom fighters and Gandhian leaders attended and highlighted the life and philosophy of Gandhiji and Vinoba Bhave. Bhave was an advocate of nonviolence and human rights and his contribution to India will ever be remembered.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Shankar Sanyal, President of All India Harijan Sevak Sangh said real development could be achieved following Gandhian and Vinoba Bhave principles and by practicing nonviolence approach.

Dr. Hiralal Shrimali of Rashtriya Acharya Kula, said youth need to follow the nonviolence principles. Physical assault is not only violence; mental abuse is a form of violence, he added. We should inspire youth to adopt nonviolence by following Gandhiji and Bhave, which will enlighten their life as well as cherish the society.

Braja Kishore Dash, a freedom fighter from Badamba, said that he joined ‘Do or Die’ movement called by Mahantama Gandhi in 1942. He added that our secretary Manoj Jena invited me to this function.

Manoj Jena, Secretary of Vinoba Seva Pratisthan, said “I had met with Vinoba Bhave, he was very calm person, followed Gandhian culture. He organized Bhoodan Movement, where he took land from rich people and given to poor people”.

Baidhar Mohanty, 93, from Nilagiri, Balesore, a freedom fighter and he was awarded by President of India in 2015. Speaking on the occasion, Mohanty highlighted the life and philosophy of Vinoba Bhave.

Vaidehi Panda was felicitated on the occasion by Dr. Shankar Sanyal. Other dignitaries put their thoughts over nonviolence and human rights. Vinoba Seva Pratisthan has been formed and inspired by the pragmatic and humanistic work-ethics and values of Mahatma Gandhi and his disciple Vinoba Bhave.
