While AAP MLA and former Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti remains at large and gone into hiding, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has disapproved of his act and asked him to surrender. “Somnath should surrender. Why is he running away? Why is he so scared of going to jail? Now he is becoming embarrassment for party and his family. He should cooperate with the police” he tweeted.
Somnath has refused to surrender and decided to move the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea and slammed him in strong words, saying the MLA’s act was outrageous and he showed violent and aggressive behaviour at home and public places.
After failing to nab Somnath Bharti, the cops detained his brother and private secretary for questioning late last night. Bharti is facing arrest in connection with domestic violence and torture charges levelled against him by his wife Lipika Mitra.
