BJP-ruled States top ‘Ease of Doing Business Index’ of World Bank

Modi-UAEAt least six BJP-ruled states and another ruled by its ally, TDP are among the Top 10 list of ‘Ease of Doing Business Index’ of World Bank. Gujarat tops the list, while Andhra Pradesh is at No. 2, followed by Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha and Maharashtra. Poll-bound Bihar is ranked a poor 21st in the list.

As PM Narendra Modi and BJP-ruled states have taken the reform process ahead, situation may continue to improve for India over the next few years.

The ‘Ease of Doing Business Index’ is an index created by the World Bank Group. Higher rankings indicate better, usually simpler, regulations for businesses and stronger protections of property rights.

Indian states have been assessed on a 98-point action plan for business reforms for the period January 1 to June 30, 2015. The ‘Doing Business Report’ takes stock of business reforms implemented by states to facilitate #EaseOfDoingBusiness in India.
