Chandimal’s 162* helps Lanka set a Victory Target of 176 for India

Dinesh Chandimal played a marathon innings of 162* off just 169 balls, as Sri Lanka set a victory target of 176 for India to win Galle Test. Sri Lanka bowled out for 367 in the second innings. Apart from Chandimal, Sangakkara (40), Mathews (39), Thirimanne (44) and Mubarak (49) were the top scorers.

For India, Ashwin took four wickets to make it a perfect 10-wicket haul for him in this match. Amit Mishra took 3 wickets. Ajinkya Rahane created a world record today by taking 8 catches in the match – most by any non-wicketkeeper fielder in a Test.

India finished at 23/1 at Stumps on Day 3. KL Rahul failed yet again. Shikhar Dhawan and Ishant Sharma were at the crease.
